Dear San Ramon Parents,

While we know that this school year is off to a very different start, we are still looking forward with a positive outlook for a wonderful school year filled with learning, growth, laughter and fun for the children and families of San Ramon Elementary School. There is still uncertainty as to what this year will look like and we understand that there are many questions. As your PTA we will do whatever we can to try to help answer any questions we can pertaining to PTA activities.

Since we are starting the year with our kids at home it may be harder to see the role PTA plays in our community. It is still important for our parents to join the PTA, participate in meetings, and remain engaged in what is going on with San Ramon despite being off campus. The PTA may be even more important this year due to recent financial impacts and we plan to make our voices heard by sending members to the capitol to fight for our students’ needs.

The San Ramon Elementary School PTA board is committed to finding ways to engage students, support their learning, and help the teachers as we have in the past. Each year our PTA provides funds directly to our school site to support a literacy program, technology expenses like Reflex math, a great art program, mental health services for the students, and much more. This crucial financial support that the PTA provides for our school means we have to raise funds. We do understand that these times have been financially difficult for so many, but if you do have the means to support our school it is a really important time to do so. Because all of our in-person fundraisers will be affected this year we will have to work harder than ever. We will start the school year with the annual Family Giving campaign and look to find new, safety aware ways to fulfill our financial goals. We count on your support of the PTA this year as we work to minimize how much these tough times affect our students.

The PTA Family Giving campaign raises a large part of our annual budget. If every family gave $200 per student we would cover our fundraising goals for the year. Any amount you are able to donate is deeply appreciated. You will see a form below to write in the amount of your choosing. There is no requirement that you donate to enjoy the benefits of what our PTA provides.

San Ramon has an emergency container stocked with supplies such as bulk food, water, medical supplies and other emergency equipment that needs to be updated annually so the San Ramon community is ready in the event of a disaster. In addition, emergency preparedness funds are used to train staff in first aid and other emergency skills. Your donation of an additional $5 per student will help the PTA make San Ramon ready.  If you are unable to contribute that amount, any amount helps. In the event of a disaster, the needs of all students will be met, regardless of your contribution.
